Historic Mishawaka Landmark at 119 S. Main St. Receives Facade Remodel by Energy Efficient Replacements of Granger, IN

Mishawaka, IN – September 2025 — A downtown Mishawaka landmark is entering a bold new chapter. The building at 119 S. Main Street, formerly known as the Original Dill Camera Store and later Gene’s Camera Store, and now home to Dojo Creative, is undergoing a complete facade remodel led by Energy Efficient Replacements (EER) of Granger, Indiana.
The structure, long recognized as a cornerstone of downtown Mishawaka’s history, is being updated with new Energy Efficient Windows and Vesta Steel Plank Siding on the lower entry level and Vesta Steel Board & Batten Siding on the upper level, combining durability with modern design while honoring the building’s historic presence.

​A Legacy of Innovation

​For decades, the site was home to Dill Camera and Gene’s Camera, where generations of families purchased cameras, film, and photography supplies. Today, as Dojo Creative, the building continues that tradition of innovation, housing a forward-thinking marketing and design firm that serves clients across the region.

More to come! US Signcrafters of Osceola will be installing the new awning to the front of the building plus the new Dojo Creative Signage as well as South Bend artist Cassi Graber will begin work on a second-floor, custom mural the week of Sept. 22. Come by and see the improvements!
